Are you a skilled Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) with a passion for making education accessible? We are seeking a Virtual SLI to support a 2nd-grade student with additional physical disabilities in Littlestown, PA. This is a 1099 contract position requiring professional liability insurance.
Position Details:
- Location: Remote (servicing Littlestown, PA students)
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)
- Compensation: $42/hr (1099 contract)
- Start Date: ASAP
Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time virtual sign language interpretation for a 2nd-grade student
- Work closely with the classroom teacher, personal care assistant (PCA), and Teacher of the Deaf to ensure effective communication and learning
- Support a student with physical disabilities, ensuring accessibility needs are met
- Foster communication between the student, educators, and Spanish-speaking family
Requirements:
- Minimum 3.5 EIPA score (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment)
- Experience working with students with additional physical disabilities
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, PCAs, and families
- Professional liability insurance required
