Position Details:
ProCare Therapy is seeking a passionate Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a position in East Amherst, NY. The role will involve working with elementary to high school students with visual impairments, providing both direct and indirect services. The caseload consists of 16 students with a total of 25 weekly sessions (12.5 hours of direct service). The position requires travel between schools within the district, and travel time plus mileage will be reimbursed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments
- Deliver 12.5 hours of direct service per week across 25 sessions
- Collaborate with other educators and specialists to ensure the success of students
- Complete Medicaid session notes, planning, and attend necessary meetings
- Travel between school locations as needed for student services (travel time and mileage are compensated)
Requirements:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with visually impaired students, elementary through high school
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to travel between multiple school locations within the district
- Must be organized and able to handle planning, documentation, and student progress monitoring
