Are you a certified Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHHT) looking for a new opportunity? Are you a passionate and hard-working educator? We are looking for a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHHT) to support our partner school in Minnesota in a remote capacity for the school year.
About the Position:
- Part-time: approximately 25 hours per week
- Caseload: K - 12th grade students
- Current School Year: ASAP start
- Provide language and communication support to students by utilizing a variety of approaches, including sign language, speech, lip-reading, and written communication.
- Foster language development, vocabulary acquisition, and effective communication skills.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, interpreters, and other professionals to ensure the effective inclusion of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, providing input and recommendations for accommodations, modifications, and services.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid Minnesota Teaching Certificate with an SL (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) Endorsement
- Must have a valid teaching certificate in state of residency, if not Minnesota
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Education for Teaching Deaf Students, or related field
