Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time position in Tustin, CA. This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive educational environment, helping students achieve their communication goals through effective speech therapy services. The position is available for the end of school year (EOSY) and offers the chance to gain experience while making a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in providing speech and language therapy services to students with communication disorders.
- Implement therapy plans and interventions developed by the supervising SLP.
- Conduct speech and language screenings under the direction of the SLP.
- Record and track student progress, providing feedback to the SLP.
- Maintain student records and progress notes in compliance with confidentiality and privacy standards.
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support students’ communication goals.
- Assist in the creation of materials and activities for therapy sessions.
- Support students in group or individual therapy sessions, fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Communication Disorders or related field.
- Current SLPA licensure or certification in California.
- Previous experience as an SLPA in a school setting preferred.
- Ability to implement therapy plans and techniques as outlined by a licensed SLP.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- A passion for working with students and supporting their speech and language development.
