Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our school-based team in Sumner, WA. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide therapy services to students with communication disorders, helping them achieve their speech and language goals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist in delivering therapy sessions to students in individual and group settings.
- Implement treatment plans as directed by the supervising SLP.
- Collect data and document student progress, providing feedback to the SLP for evaluation and modification of therapy.
- Support students with speech, language, and communication challenges in developing necessary skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student success.
- Prepare materials and set up equipment for therapy sessions.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or related field.
- Valid Washington state SLPA license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
