Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in Oakdale, CT. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting students with speech and language disorders within a school setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in the implementation of speech and language therapy programs.
- Conduct therapy sessions under the supervision of an SLP.
- Prepare and maintain therapy materials and documentation.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to support students' speech and language development.
- Monitor and document students' progress and report findings to the supervising SLP.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences, or a related field.
- Certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in Connecticut.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred but not required.
