Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) School-Based Position
Location: Springfield, Massachusetts
Position: Full-Time, 37.5 Hours per Week
Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team for a full-time role in Springfield, Massachusetts. This position involves working with middle school students who have developmental and intellectual delays, as well as students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to implement therapy plans and goals
- Monitor and document student progress and provide feedback to the supervising SLP
- Assist in creating materials and activities to support speech and language development
- Participate in IEP meetings and team discussions as needed
- Work closely with teachers, staff, and families to ensure a supportive learning environment
Qualifications:
- Active SLPA license in the state of Massachusetts
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field
- Previous experience working with middle school students, especially those with developmental delays and ASD, is preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
