Job Description: We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in San Jose, CA. In this school-based role, the SLPA will assist Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in delivering therapy services to students with speech and language challenges, supporting them in achieving their communication goals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in conducting speech and language therapy sessions.
- Work with students individually or in small groups to implement therapy plans developed by the SLP.
- Document students' progress and provide feedback to the supervising SLP.
- Help prepare materials for therapy sessions and organize activities for students.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students' communication needs.
- Maintain a positive and engaging environment for students during therapy sessions.
- Follow all district and state regulations regarding student care and SLPA responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or a related field.
- Valid SLPA license from the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board.
- Experience working with children in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the SLP and school staff.
