Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Richmond, VA
Soliant is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join a dynamic school team in Richmond, Virginia. This role offers an exciting opportunity to assist in the provision of speech and language services to students, helping them develop critical communication skills in a supportive educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in implementing individualized therapy programs for students with speech and language disorders.
- Conduct therapy sessions under the direction of the SLP, following prescribed treatment plans.
- Monitor and document student progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising SLP.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support the development of communication skills.
- Help maintain therapy materials and equipment, ensuring all resources are ready for sessions.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input regarding student progress and goals.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
- Active Virginia SLPA license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Previous experience in a school-based setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a school environment.
- Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about helping students succeed.
