Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) - Milton, FL (School-Based)
Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our school-based team in Milton, FL. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide therapeutic services to students with communication disorders. Responsibilities:
- Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist in providing speech therapy services to students.
- Implement treatment plans designed by the SLP to address speech, language, and communication goals.
- Conduct speech and language activities in individual or group settings.
- Monitor and document student progress and report findings to the supervising SLP.
- Assist with screenings and assessments as directed by the SLP.
- Prepare materials and set up equipment for therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to support student communication in the classroom.
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and progress notes.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or a related field.
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in Florida.
- Experience working with children in a school or clinical setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and follow the lead of the supervising SLP.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for helping children succeed.
