Job Description:
Soliant Health is seeking a motivated and passionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time position in Chesterfield, South Carolina. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a school-based setting, assisting licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in providing therapy services to students with speech and language needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in delivering speech and language therapy to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Provide therapy in individual or small group settings under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
- Monitor and document student progress, recording data for evaluation purposes.
- Implement therapy activities and exercises as directed by the supervising SLP.
- Assist in preparing materials and maintaining therapy equipment.
- Support students in communication, language, and social skills development.
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure students’ needs are met.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for therapy sessions, including progress notes.
- Follow all guidelines and ethical standards set by ASHA and the supervising SLP.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant or related field.
- Current state licensure as an SLPA in South Carolina.
- Previous experience working with students in a school or therapy setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals and school staff.
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to helping students succeed.
- Organized and able to maintain accurate documentation and records.
