Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our school-based team in Frankfort, IL. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students with speech and language disorders. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' communication skills and overall development.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in providing direct therapy services to students.
- Implement treatment plans and activities designed by the SLP to address communication disorders.
- Support students with articulation, language, fluency, and social communication needs.
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records as directed by the supervising SLP.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to create a positive learning environment.
- Help prepare materials and activities for therapy sessions.
- Follow all ethical guidelines and maintain student confidentiality.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or equivalent.
- Illinois SLPA license or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience working with children in a school or clinical setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work closely with a licensed SLP.
