Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in DeLand, FL. This position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive school-based environment, helping students overcome speech and language challenges under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist in providing speech and language therapy to students.
- Implement treatment plans designed by the SLP and provide direct therapy services to students.
- Observe and monitor student progress and provide feedback to the supervising SLP.
- Assist in preparing therapy materials and conducting speech and language screenings.
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, student progress, and any relevant documentation.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support the overall development of students.
- Provide support for classroom speech and language interventions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
- Active certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in Florida.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Previous experience working with children in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders and therapy techniques.
