Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) - Carlsbad, CA (School-Based)
Job Description: We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in Carlsbad, CA. In this school-based position, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services to students with communication disorders, helping them achieve success in both academic and social settings.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist in conducting speech and language screenings.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students following treatment plans created by the supervising SLP.
- Support the SLP in preparing materials and developing therapy activities.
- Monitor and document student progress, reporting observations to the supervising SLP.
- Help students improve their communication skills in individual and group settings.
- Participate in school meetings and collaborate with teachers and staff to support student communication needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student performance.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or related field.
- Current California SLPA license.
- Experience working with children in a school or clinical setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under supervision and as part of a team.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and compassionate in providing care.
