Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our school-based team. The SLP will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in students ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade. The ideal candidate will collaborate with educators, parents, and other school personnel to support students' communication skills and academic achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students based on assessment results.
- Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in groups, as outlined in their IEPs.
- Monitor and document student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom environment.
- Attend IEP meetings and provide professional input regarding student progress and treatment recommendations.
- Maintain accurate and compliant records in accordance with school district and state regulations.
- Provide training and consultation to staff and families on communication disorders and strategies to support student success.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Educational Specialist Certificate for Speech and Language Impaired, issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).
- Experience with school-aged children and familiarity with Pennsylvania's IEP process.
Additional Requirements:
- Act 48 Continuing Professional Education (ongoing professional development required in PA).
- Pennsylvania State Clearances, including:
- Act 34 Criminal History Report (PA State Police).
- Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance.
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance under Act 114.
- Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within a school setting.
- Strong understanding of Pennsylvania’s IEP development process and familiarity with school-based services.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
