Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our school-based team in Viola, DE. The selected candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing therapy to students with speech, language, and communication disorders, supporting their academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • SLP:

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students.
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
    • Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings.
    • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment.
    • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the development and review of student-specific goals and objectives.
    • Monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  • SLPA:

    • Assist the SLP in conducting speech and language screenings.
    • Implement therapy activities designed by the SLP.
    • Document student progress and report findings to the SLP.
    • Prepare materials and assist in maintaining therapy equipment.
    • Collaborate with the SLP and other school staff to support students' therapy goals.

Qualifications:

  • SLP:

    • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
    • Valid SLP license or certification in Delaware.
    • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
  • SLPA:

    • Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistance or a related field.
    • Valid SLPA certification or license in Delaware.
    • Experience working in a school setting is highly desirable.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred for both SLP and SLPA roles.
