Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our school-based team in Sibley, LA. The SLP/SLPA will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders, working collaboratively to help them succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students (SLP).
- Assist the SLP in conducting screenings and implementing therapy plans (SLPA).
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's needs (SLP).
- Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in groups, as per the treatment plan.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment.
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the development and review of student-specific goals and objectives (SLP).
- Monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
- Educate and support parents and teachers on strategies to enhance students' communication skills.
Qualifications:
For SLP:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid SLP license or certification in Louisiana.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
For SLPA:
- Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or a related field.
- Valid SLPA certification or license in Louisiana.
- Experience in a school setting is preferred.
