Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our school team in Shaker Heights, Ohio. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders. The SLP will collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' academic and social growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans that address the unique needs of each student.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students individually and in group settings.
- Monitor and document student progress regularly, adjusting therapy plans as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to integrate speech and language goals into classroom activities.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing to goal setting and progress monitoring.
- Maintain accurate and timely records, including assessment reports, therapy notes, and progress updates.
- Stay current with developments and best practices in speech-language pathology.
- Provide training and support to teachers and staff on speech and language development and disorders.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Pupil Services License.
- Prior experience in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of speech and language development and disorders.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of educators and professionals.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position based in Shaker Heights, Ohio.
- Work primarily in a school environment, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and offices.
- Regular interaction with students, parents, and school staff.
- Occasional travel to other schools within the district may be required.
