We are actively seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our educational team in the Westwego, Louisiana area. This school-based role involves working directly with students to assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of speech and language disorders. You’ll collaborate with educators and families to create an optimal learning environment for students with communication challenges.
Position Highlights:
- Location: Westwego, LA (and surrounding areas)
- Setting: School-based (K-12)
- Caseload: Elementary, middle, and high school students
- Employment Type: Full-time or part-time
- Start Date: Immediate openings for the 2024/2025 school year
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students for speech and language disorders
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct speech therapy services to students in various educational settings
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student progress
- Monitor and document students' progress and adjust therapy plans as necessary
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review student progress and provide input on educational strategies
Qualifications:
- Louisiana SLP licensure required
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- SLP certification preferred, but CFY candidates will be considered
- Previous experience working in school settings is preferred but not required
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
