Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in Newton, MA. This school-based position offers an exciting opportunity to work with students of various ages, helping them develop critical communication skills that will support their academic and social success. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to identify student needs and create individualized therapy plans.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy to students, focusing on improving articulation, language development, and overall communication abilities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to ensure the effective implementation of communication strategies in the classroom.
  • Monitor student progress, adjusting therapy techniques and goals as needed to maximize outcomes.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, offering recommendations and insights to support student progress.
  • Document therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Educate and advise parents on strategies to support speech and language development at home.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students feel encouraged and supported.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Valid Massachusetts state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist or eligibility to obtain.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, but Clinical Fellows (CFs) are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a school-based team.
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
