Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our educational team in Oxon Hill, Maryland. The SLP will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students, addressing a range of communication disorders to support their academic and social success. This role involves assessment, intervention, collaboration with educators and parents, and contributing to a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and student needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in groups.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom and home environments.
- Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
- Maintain detailed and confidential records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Offer training and support to teachers and parents on strategies to support speech and language development.
- Stay current with best practices and emerging research in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Maryland State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) certification to work in public schools.
- Strong skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech and language disorders.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and team.
Experience:
- Prior experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school setting is preferred.
- Experience working with children and adolescents with a variety of speech and language disorders.
