Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The SLP will work with students to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. This role involves collaborating with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support students' communication needs within the school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language needs, both individually and in group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment.
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to goal setting for students.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, progress notes, and reports.
- Provide training and resources to teachers and parents to support students’ communication skills.
- Stay updated on best practices and new research in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Texas State Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Texas Education Agency (TEA) Speech-Language Pathologist Certification (preferred but not mandatory for all school settings).
- Previous experience working in a school or pediatric setting is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
