Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will provide speech and language services to students with diverse needs, helping them overcome communication challenges in a supportive, educational environment. You will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that foster student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and IEPs for students based on assessments.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in group and individual settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to monitor student progress and adjust treatment as necessary.
- Conduct screenings to identify students in need of speech and language support.
- Maintain thorough records of student progress, treatment plans, and other required documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate findings and progress to parents and school staff.
- Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology and education.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or in the process of completing Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for ASHA certification.
- California State License in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the California Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board.
- California Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential or equivalent credential authorizing service as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school setting.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to special education and speech-language services in schools.
- Experience working in a school setting is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a background check and provide proof of TB clearance.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work in an educational setting.
- Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation.
