Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. As an SLP, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in a school setting. Your expertise will play a key role in helping students improve their communication skills and succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
- Provide direct therapy services in accordance with students' IEPs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of evaluations, progress reports, and treatment plans.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to provide input on student progress.
- Educate and support staff and parents in speech and language development strategies.
- Conduct screenings to identify students who may require further evaluation.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current and valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
- Illinois state license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates are welcome to apply.
- Knowledge of IDEA and IEP processes is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in schools or with pediatric populations is highly desirable.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in creating and implementing IEPs.
- Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and adapt to different student needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Familiarity with speech therapy tools, techniques, and assessments.
