Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our school-based team. The SLP will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in students ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade. The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to support students’ communication skills and academic performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) tailored to students' needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support the integration of speech and language goals in the classroom.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide updates on student progress and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records in accordance with school district, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Provide consultation and support to families regarding speech and language development strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid California State License in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (preferred but not always required for entry-level candidates).
  • California Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential in Language, Speech, and Hearing, issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
  • Experience in providing speech and language services to school-aged children is preferred but not required.

Required Certifications and Clearances:

  • Valid California Teaching Credential or Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential with a specialization in Language, Speech, and Hearing.
  • Live Scan fingerprint clearance through the California Department of Justice (DOJ).
  • TB Test clearance.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred but not always required).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a school setting or with school-aged children.
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes and special education services in California schools.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
