Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist (School-Based)

Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our school team. The SLP will evaluate, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, and communication disorders, supporting their academic success and overall well-being. This role requires collaboration with educators, families, and other professionals to create and implement effective communication strategies tailored to each student's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess students’ speech and language abilities using standardized tools and evidence-based practices.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and families.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions tailored to each student’s goals.
  • Consult with teachers and staff to integrate speech and language strategies into the classroom.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss students’ progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of evaluations, therapy plans, and progress reports in compliance with state and district requirements.
  • Stay current with best practices, research, and state requirements in speech-language pathology.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure and Certification:
  • Current Speech-Language Pathology license issued by the Massachusetts Board of Registration for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility to complete the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) license as a Speech-Language Pathologist or Teacher of Students with Speech, Language, and Hearing Disabilities.
  • Experience: Prior experience in school settings is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of communication disorders, including articulation, fluency, voice, and language processing.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in using technology for therapy and documentation.
