Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist (School-Based)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in a school-based setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping students overcome communication challenges, enabling them to succeed academically and socially. This role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in students while collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech, language, and communication skills.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students' specific needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students’ educational goals.
- Monitor and document students’ progress and adjust therapy plans as necessary.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expert recommendations for communication interventions.
- Stay current with best practices and evidence-based strategies in speech-language pathology.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and school district policies and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Licensure and Certification:
- Current Speech-Language Pathology license issued by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility to complete the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
- Valid Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) license with a Communication Disorders endorsement.
- Experience: Experience in school-based settings is preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders, including articulation, fluency, voice, and language processing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in using technology for documentation and therapy purposes.
