Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Position Overview
This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication disorders in a school-based setting, empowering students to achieve their academic and social goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language, and communication challenges.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ specific needs.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions that address speech and language goals.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to promote student success.
- Maintain accurate records of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary planning and problem-solving.
- Stay informed about evidence-based practices, continuing education, and current regulations in the field.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited institution.
- Valid Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathologist License issued by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS).
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (preferred but not mandatory).
- Hold or be eligible to obtain the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) License with an endorsement in Speech and Language Pathology (#1820).
- Compliance with Wisconsin state and federal guidelines for working with school-age children.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a school-based setting or working with children.
- Familiarity with special education processes and IEP development.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other languages) are an asset.
