Position Overview: We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team at National Harbor, Maryland. The SLP will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive speech and language services to students, focusing on assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication disorders to enhance educational outcomes and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to meet the individual needs of students.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to integrate speech and language goals into academic and social activities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans.
- Offer training and guidance to teachers and parents on strategies to support speech and language development in various settings.
- Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Maryland State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) certification to work in public schools.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech and language disorders.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in a school setting.
Experience:
- Prior experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist, particularly in educational settings, is preferred.
- Experience with diverse student populations and a variety of speech and language disorders is advantageous.
