Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our educational team in Maple Heights, Ohio. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication disorders. The SLP will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals for students with speech and language impairments.
- Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups.
- Monitor and document student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom setting.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and provide input on student progress and goals.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including evaluation reports, therapy notes, and progress reports.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Provide training and support to teachers and staff on speech and language development and disorders.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Pupil Services License.
- Previous experience working in a school setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of speech and language development and disorders.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and professionals.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position based in Maple Heights, Ohio.
- Work primarily in a school environment, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and offices.
- Regular interaction with students, parents, and school staff.
- May require occasional travel to other schools within the district.
