Location: Lima, Ohio
Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Position Overview: The Lima City School District is seeking a compassionate and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, and communication disorders, playing a vital role in their academic and social development.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech and language impairments in students.
- Create and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to individual student needs.
- Provide direct therapy services, both individually and in group sessions, to students with communication disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to support students' communication goals.
- Maintain meticulous records of assessments, treatment plans, therapy sessions, and student progress.
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the development and review of student goals.
- Offer guidance and training to school staff on supporting speech and language development.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Ohio state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Ohio Department of Education Pupil Services License for Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Prior experience in a school setting is desirable.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting.
- Compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
