Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Lafayette, AL
Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in Lafayette, Alabama. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact in a school-based setting by providing speech and language services to students with various communication disorders. As an SLP in Lafayette, you will help students improve their speech, language, and communication skills, while collaborating with teachers, staff, and families to support academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide therapy for students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students based on assessments and needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students both individually and in small groups.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy goals as needed.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to promote student success.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team discussions regarding student progress.
- Provide consultation and support to staff in strategies to enhance student communication in the classroom.
- Adhere to school and district policies and procedures, including all confidentiality and documentation requirements.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Alabama state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or eligibility for licensure).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working with children is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a team of professionals and work independently.
- Passionate about helping children develop their communication skills and succeed in school.
