Full-Time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Needed in Thomasville, NC

Position Details:
- Location: Thomasville, NC
- Start/End Dates: ASAP
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday – Friday
- Grades: 1st-9th
- Caseload Size: 40-45 students
General Job Responsibilities:
- Assist students with special communicative needs to maximize their communicative potential based on age and cognition.
- Areas of involvement include articulation, language, voice, and fluency.
- Coordinate services with the student’s educational staff and family.
- Responsible for documentation for Medicaid billing for all eligible students.
- Report to the principal(s) at the assigned school(s) and collaborate with the Exceptional Children’s Preschool Handicapped Lead Teacher.
Essential Job Functions:
- Planning and Oversight: Organize the school program, cooperate with others to achieve goals, and maintain records in accordance with ethical standards.
- Screening, Testing, Diagnosing and Advising: Conduct screenings and assessments, analyze diagnostic information, and make recommendations regarding programs and services.
- Developing Individual Education Programs: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop IEPs for eligible children.
- Managing and Conducting Therapy: Implement therapy plans and use appropriate diagnostic tools to support student curriculum and needs.
- Liaison: Provide consultation, seek assistance, and make recommendations for service implementation.
Minimum Training and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association preferred.
- Valid G License from the NC Department of Public Instruction required.
- License from the Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists may be required.
