Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Huntsville, AL
Requirements: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Alabama State Licensure
Pay Range: $35-$55 per hour, based on experience
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This role involves providing speech and language services in a school-based setting to support students with speech and communication challenges. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to improving students' ability to communicate effectively and participate fully in academic and social activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform speech and language evaluations to identify communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct therapy services for students, addressing speech, language, fluency, and voice disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to ensure integrated support for students.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with speech-language needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and other related activities.
- Offer counseling and guidance to students to help them overcome speech-related challenges.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing recommendations and progress updates.
- Provide staff training on speech-language development and intervention strategies.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist licensure in Alabama (AL).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, though Clinical Fellows (CFs) are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience working in a school setting is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and multidisciplinary teams.
