Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Full-Time Itinerant Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to join our school-based team in Chestertown, MD, for a full-time itinerant role. The SLP will work across both high school and elementary school settings, serving a mixed caseload of approximately 40-50 students. The position requires performing speech and language testing, case management, providing direct therapy, and collaborating with general education staff to support student needs. Caseloads are kept as small as possible to ensure individualized attention and effective services.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language assessments and evaluations for students in both high school and elementary school settings.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs.
- Provide direct therapy services both inside and outside of the general education classroom.
- Manage and monitor student progress, adjusting goals and services as necessary.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and parents to ensure the success of students with speech and language challenges.
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation of therapy services, assessments, and progress.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide consultation as needed.
- Provide case management and support for a diverse student population, maintaining clear communication with school staff and families.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Valid Maryland state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience working with students at both the high school and elementary levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
