Pay Range: $35-$55 per hour, based on experience
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in Falls Church, VA. This position involves working in a school-based setting, providing vital speech and language services to students to enhance their communication skills. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping children overcome speech and language challenges, ensuring they reach their full academic potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language assessments to identify communication disorders and create individualized therapy plans.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs.
- Provide direct speech therapy services to students, both individually and in groups.
- Collaborate with school staff, teachers, and parents to support student progress and communicate strategies for improvement.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing expert recommendations and support.
- Train and educate staff and parents on speech therapy techniques and strategies to reinforce communication skills.
- Create a positive, supportive learning environment for students to thrive in.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university.
- Active Virginia State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFs) are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience in a school-based setting is preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Passion for helping children succeed academically and socially through improved communication.
