Salary: $42/hr - $58/hr, based on experience
Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students with speech, language, and communication challenges, helping them to develop essential skills for success in the classroom and beyond. Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Massachusetts (or eligibility for licensure).
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred, but not required.
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a school setting.
- Knowledge of speech and language disorders, including articulation, language delays, fluency, and voice disorders.
- Familiarity with special education laws, IEP development, and 504 plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and school staff.
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet the diverse needs of students and support an inclusive environment.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) or other developmental disabilities.
- Bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish) are a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students referred for speech-language concerns. Analyze results and develop individualized plans for therapy based on students’ needs.
- Therapy & Intervention: Provide direct speech-language therapy to students with speech, language, and communication disorders, including articulation, fluency, voice, and language delays.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to implement and monitor students’ speech and language goals. Collaborate to create strategies for supporting communication development in the classroom setting.
- IEP Development & Implementation: Participate in the development, review, and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language goals.
- Consultation & Training: Offer consultation to teachers and staff on how to support students with speech and language needs within the classroom. Provide professional development to educators on speech-language strategies and best practices.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and assessment results. Prepare reports for parents and IEP meetings.
- Family Support: Communicate regularly with parents to discuss student progress, offer strategies for home support, and provide guidance on speech and language development.
