Job Description:
We are currently looking for a passionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our educational team in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in students. The SLP will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the overall development and academic success of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Create and implement personalized treatment plans to address the unique needs of each student.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings.
- Regularly monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to therapy plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to incorporate speech and language goals into the classroom setting.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing to the development of goals and monitoring progress.
- Maintain accurate and timely records, including assessment reports, therapy notes, and progress updates.
- Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology.
- Offer training and support to teachers and staff on topics related to speech and language development and disorders.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Pupil Services License.
- Experience working in a school setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of speech and language development and disorders.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and professionals.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position based in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
- Work primarily conducted in school environments, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and offices.
- Regular interaction with students, parents, and school staff.
- Occasional travel to other schools within the district may be required.
