Located in the beautiful city of Benicia, California, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. This role focuses on supporting elementary-aged students and is ideal for a candidate eager to make a meaningful impact.
Position Overview: The School-Based Speech Language Pathologist will provide direct and consultative services to elementary students with a range of speech, language, and communication needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to collaborative teamwork, a passion for helping students succeed, and the ability to work effectively in a school-based setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Evaluation:

Conduct comprehensive assessments of students’ speech, language, and communication skills.

Interpret evaluation results and determine eligibility for services based on state and federal guidelines.
Individualized Education Plans (IEPs):
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs.
Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, families, and staff to set goals and ensure student progress.
Direct Therapy Services:
Provide individual and group therapy sessions to elementary students.
Utilize evidence-based practices to address articulation, language, fluency, and social communication disorders.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment.
Provide training and resources to staff and families to support students’ communication skills.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including IDEA and other school policies.
Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Valid California SLP license and/or certification from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.

Experience in a school-based setting is highly desirable.

Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with elementary-aged students.

Familiarity with IEP documentation and processes.

Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and strategies.
