Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group speech and language therapy to students with communication disorders, including speech articulation, language, fluency, and voice issues.

  • Develop and implement IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals tailored to each student's unique needs, monitoring progress and adjusting as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to integrate speech and language goals into the student’s daily routine and classroom activities.
  • Provide consultation and training to teachers and school staff regarding communication strategies and classroom modifications to support students’ needs.
  • Track and document student progress, providing regular updates to families and school teams regarding goals, outcomes, and adjustments.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and make recommendations for additional support services.
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment where students feel safe and motivated to participate in therapy.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Washington State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
  • Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working with students of all ages (PreK through 12th grade) with a variety of speech and language disorders.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP processes and the ability to develop and implement measurable goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students, families, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor, with the ability to create a positive and supportive environment for students with diverse needs.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads and documentation in a timely manner.
