As a School Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating students with speech and language disorders. Your expertise and guidance will help students improve their communication abilities, develop speech and language skills, and overcome any obstacles they may face in their academic journey. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on students' specific needs and goals.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, targeting various areas such as articulation, phonology, fluency, language comprehension, and pragmatics.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to maximize outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop strategies for incorporating speech and language goals into the classroom environment.
  • Educate and train teachers, parents, and caregivers on effective communication techniques and strategies to support students' progress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, therapy sessions, and other relevant documentation.
  • Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current Massachusetts state license (or eligibility for licensure) in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience working with school-aged children with various speech and language disorders.
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language assessment tools and intervention techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Ability to create a supportive and engaging therapy environment for students.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
