Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in a school setting near Clendenin, WV. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students with speech and language disorders. Key responsibilities include implementing therapy plans, conducting screenings, documenting progress, and assisting with assessments. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with educators and parents, and a passion for helping students reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Implement speech and language therapy programs and interventions as directed by the supervising SLP.
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for students with speech/language needs.
- Assist in the development and modification of IEP goals and objectives.
- Conduct screenings and assist in assessments under the guidance of the SLP.
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records of therapy sessions.
- Provide support during classroom activities to reinforce speech/language goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure the effective implementation of therapy plans.
- Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
- State certification/licensing as an SLPA (or eligibility).
- Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
