Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) - Hitchcock, TX
Part-time position: 3 days per week, 20-23 hours/week
Duration: January 7, 2025 - May 22, 2025
Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in Hitchcock, TX. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide support in the assessment and treatment of students with communication disorders.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing treatment plans and individual education plans (IEPs) for students in 4th-6th grade self-contained classrooms and 7th-12th grade
- Provide direct speech services to 10 students and indirect services to 15 students
- Support 18 students in self-contained classrooms
- Assist with SHARS documentation, evaluations, and Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings
- Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings as directed by the supervising SLP
- Document student progress and maintain accurate clinical records
- Prepare therapy materials and adapt instructional materials as needed
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement communication-enhancing activities
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or related field[3]
- Texas license as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant[4]
- Experience working with school-aged children with communication disorders
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in using educational technology and software for documentation
