Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Caseload: Approximately 20-40 students, primarily elementary with some middle school students
Job Description:
Soliant is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our district speech team. This position involves working with a smaller district, providing essential speech and language services to a diverse caseload of students, primarily in elementary and some middle school grades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in conducting assessments and evaluations.
- Help develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, focusing on improving communication skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student progress.
- Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to the supervising SLP.
- Assist in maintaining accurate and timely records of therapy sessions and student progress.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of student goals and progress plans.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
- Valid state certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
- Experience working with school-aged children.
- Basic knowledge of speech and language disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a school setting.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in speech-language therapy.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.
