Job Description:
As a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide support in the assessment and treatment of students with communication disorders. You will help implement therapy plans and assist in creating a positive learning experience for all students.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting assessments and evaluations of students’ speech and language abilities.
- Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising SLP.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in both one-on-one and group settings.
- Document student progress and report findings to the supervising SLP.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to enhance student learning.
- Maintain a supportive and encouraging environment for students.
- Stay updated on best practices in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field.
- Current Massachusetts SLPA certification or eligibility for certification.
- Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
