Job Title: Special Education Teacher
Location: Sharon, South Carolina
Job Summary: Sharon School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to join our team in Sharon, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality education and support to students with disabilities and will meet all required licensure and certification requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Provide specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with a range of disabilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the success of students with disabilities in the general education setting.
- Use assessment data to inform instruction and monitor student progress.
- Implement behavior management strategies and interventions as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and services provided.
- Participate in IEP meetings and other team meetings related to student support and progress.
- Stay current with best practices in special education and participate in professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid South Carolina teaching license with Special Education endorsement.
- Certification in Special Education (required for teaching students with disabilities).
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
- Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Valid South Carolina teaching license with Special Education endorsement.
- Certification in Special Education.
