South Dakota Speech-Language Pathologist Remote Position

Sioux Falls, SD
VocoVision Schools - SLP Contract Today Apply

VocoVision is currently looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist for a work-from-home role in a South Dakota school district. Teletherapy offers flexibility to provide necessary speech services, especially for districts with limited access to on-site therapists, while offering a more adaptable work schedule for professionals.

About VocoVision: We connect schools with qualified tele-practitioners. The VocoVision platform allows you to treat and assess students either individually or in groups remotely. The platform also enables seamless collaboration with other staff members, and positions are available for both short-term and full-year contracts.

Teletherapy eliminates the need for commuting, offering greater flexibility in balancing your professional and personal life. VocoVision offers full training, technical support, and 24/7 assistance to ensure a successful experience in a virtual environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide evaluations, diagnoses, and therapy for students with speech impairments in a remote setting.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide diagnostic recommendations for students requiring special education services.
  • Work with the Special Education Coordinator to develop and implement IEP goals and treatment plans.
  • Serve as a speech and language development resource to school staff.
  • Collect and analyze data related to student progress and school improvement.
  • Support teachers and families in differentiating instruction to improve student engagement.

Skills:

  • Experience in teletherapy is encouraged, but not required; training and support are provided.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in using software for documentation, assessment, and reporting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with speech therapy tools.
  • A commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities and at-risk children.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Attention to detail when managing sensitive student information.

Experience:

  • 2-3 years in a school setting.
  • Experience in articulation, receptive, and expressive speech therapy is a plus.
  • Teletherapy experience is advantageous but not necessary.

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.

License:

  • Active South Dakota Speech-Language Pathologist license required.
  • Must be licensed in both the state of residence and the state of the school district.

Platform:

  • HIPAA/FERPA-compliant VocoVision platform.
  • Zoom interface.
  • Scheduling tools.
  • Continuing education options.
  • Speech therapy tools and assessments (games, digital assignments, interactive tools).
  • No student data is stored on our platform.
