Position Overview: As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will work within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Special Education Teachers, and other support staff. You will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in students from diverse backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other team members to support students' communication goals.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in both individual and group settings.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals.
- Educate staff and parents on strategies to support communication development.
- Stay current with best practices and evidence-based interventions in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Maine SLP license or eligibility for licensure
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
