Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Identifying students with communication impairments through thorough evaluations.
- Collaborating with educators to create tailored instructional and curricular modifications.
- Developing and implementing engaging IEPs that address individual student needs.
- Providing direct and indirect speech-language therapy services.
- Creating and sharing valuable communication development materials with educators and families.
- Maintaining accurate student records and performance data.
- Supervising and mentoring speech/language-trained para-educators and graduate students.
- Actively participating in building and district-level committees.
- Providing valuable in-service training to colleagues.
- Completing all required special education paperwork, including IEPs and Medicaid billing.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Current license issued by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
- Experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in a school system (preferred, but not required!).
Compensation:
The average hourly rate for a contract Speech Language Pathologist in Topeka, KS, typically ranges from $40-$50 per hour. Your actual compensation will depend on your experience and qualifications.
