Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our school-based team in Derby, CT. As an SLPA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide support to students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the SLP in implementing treatment plans for students with speech and language disorders.
- Conduct therapy sessions with students, following the SLP's established guidelines and protocols.
- Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to the SLP.
- Prepare and organize therapy materials and activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of therapy sessions and student progress.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or related field.
- Valid SLPA license or certification in Connecticut.
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
